Don’t let Old Man Winter ruin your mood today. Let me lift your spirits with a walk through the Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Ten thousands orchids are arranged in this year’s theme A Study of Contrasts. On display are the tiniest of the tiny and huge specimens; orchids that reside in treetops and types that dwell at ground level; and some that grow in the sun and others that prefer shade – to name just a few.
Enjoy the orchids in a rainbow of colors and variety of forms. Each and every orchid is a work of art, sure to take your breath away.
The Orchid Show is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 13. Tickets prices are $8 for children and $10 for adults. Discounts are available for seniors and garden members. There is an additional charge for parking. More information can be found at www.chicagobotanic.org.
Even on a day like today, you can garden with me!
