Plants Dr. Seuss Would Love

Plants are wacky and wild and cool.
I love every one. How about you?

Let’s look at begonias and okra and spruce.
These would have been favorites of our Dr. Seuss.

Some plants have buds fuzzy and fun.
Some plants have pods that are second to none.

Some plants have branches spiraling out of control.
Some grow this way and that like they’re out on a stroll.

Plants are wacky and wild and cool.
I love every one. How about you?

Some leaves are dotted and some leaves are bright.
Some show off colors that shine in the light.

Some flowers puff and some are called birds.
Some look like trumpets and attract hummingbirds.

Plants are wacky and wild and cool.
I love every one. How about you?

Some trees weep and cry all day long.
Some plants wave wands held on stems very strong.

Some plants have spines that bite if you touch.
Gardeners still love them – they love them so much.

Plants are wacky and wild and cool.
I love every one. How about you?

Some look like snowflakes and some make pomegranates.
Aren’t plants the coolest things on the planet?

There are plants for the butterflies and some for the bees.
Some are seen better when you get on your knees.

Plants are wacky and wild and cool.
I love every one. How about you?

Oh, Dr. Seuss, I wish you were still present
To proclaim plants are cool – one hundred percent!
